What Is It?

Plantar fasciitis is a condition that causes pain in the heel and arch of the foot. The plantar fascia is a band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot from the heel to the toes. When this tissue becomes inflamed or irritated, it can cause pain in the foot.

The most common symptom of this condition is heel pain, which is often worse when you first get out of bed in the morning or after sitting for a long period of time. The pain may also be worse after exercise or activity.

There are several things that can contribute to the development of plantar fasciitis, including:

  • Obesity
  • Pregnancy
  • Arthritis
  • Wearing shoes that do not support the arch of the foot
  • Diabetes
  • Tight leg muscles
  • High arches or flat feet
  • Foot pronation

How We Can Help

Dr. Noble addresses foot pain by getting to the root cause. Often in patients seeking help for this condition, the issue is caused by inflamed nerve pathways that stretch down the leg and into the foot.

With focused chiropractic care, Dr. Noble can adjust the foot to proper alignment. He may also recommend laser therapy to help restore proper neurological patterns as well as reduce inflammation.

For some patients, we may recommend kinesio taping, which can help properly hold ligaments and muscles in the correct position to help reduce pain.
