Competitor Group (CGI) Eliminates, then Refabs their Elite Program

Back in August 2013, Competitor Group (CGI) decided to eliminate all support of elite fields in their North American events (including appearance fees, travel and lodging). They believed the estimated $475k would better benefit other avenues. For more information on the initial change, click here. This likely created a ripple effect, one not so easily ignored, for Competitor Group (CGI) reaffirmed their “historical commitment to elite runners,” establishing a refabbed elite program for developing international and American athletes in 2014.
